It’s a simple equation for the Socceroos – don’t lose to Syria and they’re through to the 2019 Asian Cup knockout stage. This is The Roar‘s guide to streaming the match online and watching it on TV.

Australia’s final group stage match will kickoff at 12:30am (AEDT) on the morning of Wednesday, January 16 at the Sheikh Khalifa International Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

After a shock loss to Jordan in their first game, the Socceroos got themselves back on the winners list with a strong 3-0 triumph over Palestine. They’re luckily in a position now where even a draw will be enough to see them through the next stage of the competition.

Syria, however, will be no pushovers. They can progress to the round of 16 too with a victory (but not a draw) and their incredibly gutsy efforts in Australia’s World Cup qualification matches will still be fresh in the minds of many players.

How to watch the match on TV

The exclusive broadcaster for the 2019 Asian Cup is Foxtel. As such, a valid Foxtel TV subscription will be required if you want to watch the Socceroos on TV.

Foxtel’s coverage will be on Fox Sports 505, with pregame coverage set to begin at 11:30pm – although they’ll be showing an abridged replay of the match against Jordan from 10:30pm.

Their coverage of the match proper will run right through until 2:30am, with a half-hour postgame show finally wrapping things up at 3am.

How to live stream the match online

If you are looking to stream the match instead, you’ll need to be tuning into Fox Sports’ coverage in some capacity.

The easiest way to do this is with Kayo Sports, which allows you to stream any sporting content from Foxtel’s selection for just $25 a month.

Otherwise, you can subscribe to Foxtel App or Foxtel Now. Foxtel Now is a streaming-only version of the pay-TV service that you can subscribe to if you don’t want to deal with having the TV service installed.

If you already have a Foxtel TV subscription, you can simply use the Foxtel App, which is already included in your package.

The Roar will, of course, have the match covered comprehensively with live scores, a blog, and all the highlights from the UAE.
