The Socceroos will attempt to keep extending their Asian Cup title defence when they take on host nation the United Arab Emirates in the quarter-final. The match is scheduled to be played at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain from 3am (AEDT) on Saturday, January 26.

Unfortunately, for Australian’s, that time zone is not great, but after the thrilling victory over Uzbekistan which required penalties to separate the two sides after a scoreless 120 minutes, the bet would be that more than a few people will be setting the alarm clocks.

The United Arab Emirates qualified for this stage of the competition following a high-intensity, high-scoring, 3-2 victory over Kyrgyzstan in their Round of 16 match, keeping the dream alive to win gold on home soil.
