The Six Nations will get underway for 2019 with France hosting Wales in Paris at 7am (AEDT) on Saturday, February 2.

The other Round 1 fixtures will be played on Sunday, February 3, with Scotland to host Italy at 1:15am (AEDT) and Ireland to host England in a huge clash at 3:45am (AEDT) in Dublin.

Featuring the best six rugby teams in Europe, the tournament will run over the course of five rounds in a round robin competition to crown a champion.

The tournament will wrap up with England playing Scotland in the final game at 4am (AEDT) on Sunday, March 17.

Ireland are the defending champion and, given their form over the last 12 months, unsurprisingly come in as the favourites to defend their crown.

The biggest challenges are likely to come in the form of England and France, and given the close competition structure, every game is crucial and a single loss could be the difference between finishing first and second once it’s all said and done for another season.
