The first BBL semi-final will see minor premiers the Hobart Hurricanes and Melbourne Stars duel it out at Blundstone Arena. This is The Roar’s guide to streaming the match online, or watching it on TV.

The first ball is scheduled for 7:30pm (AEDT) on Thursday, February 14.

The Hurricanes have cruised through the regular season, with a mix of explosive hitting and consistent bowling allowing them to take the minor premiership and lock up home finals as long as they are in the competition.

The Stars, on the other hand, have finished the season pretty poorly. They only needed to win one of their final three matches to qualify in the top four, and could have had a home final with good results in those three matches, but they struggled in a big way and ended up requiring a win in their last game of the regular season against the Sydney Sixers to sneak in.

How to watch the first semi-final on TV

The BBL semi-finals will be available on both free to air TV and pay TV. The broadcaster of every match on Australian soil this summer, Fox Sports, will be the best place to go for the semi-final between the Hurricanes and Stars.

To watch the coverage on Fox Sports, you will need to have a valid Foxtel TV subscription, complete with the sports package.

Their coverage of the match will start at 7pm (AEDT).

The coverage on free to air TV will be through Channel 7, who have broadcast 40 of the regular season games. They can be found on Channel 70 or 71 in standard definition, however, some states may have to watch the game on 7Mate (Channel 72), so we suggest checking your local guides.

How to live stream the first semi-final online

The only way to stream this game online will be through the Fox Sports coverage.

The best way to do this is through Kayo Sports, which allows you to stream the sports channels on Foxtel for $25 per month.

Otherwise, you will be also able to use the Foxtel App or Foxtel Now to stream the action.
