The NRL is back, and the pre-season will launch into gear with what is likely to be the best All Stars game in the history of the concept, as the Australian Indigenous team take on a New Zealand Maori outfit. This is The Roar’s guide to streaming the match online, or watching it on TV.

Kick-off in what is the first official match of the pre-season is scheduled for 8pm (AEDT) on Friday, February 15 at AAMI Park in Melbourne.

The NRL All Stars game was last played in 2017, when the Indigenous All Stars team belted a World All Stars team, who seemed to have little interest in the concept, highlighted by the lack of star power and pre-match withdrawals.

Before 2017, the concept also lacked plenty, when the opposition were simply called the NRL All Stars, made up of other Australian, New Zealand, English or Pacific Island-heritage players.

There are no such issues this time around though, with the Maori team obviously keen to play for their culture and heritage.
