In this round we saw the Jaguares on fire, two thrilling Kiwi derbies, the Sharks embarrassed and the Stormers sizzle.
Here’s the 15 that thrilled and delighted us.
15. Tom Banks
Was brilliant for the Brumbies against the Lions. Broke the line at will and scored a try in the important win.
14. Sevu Reece
Grabbed a try and turned provider in the Crusaders’ derby delight against the Highlanders. Only 22 but the Fijian is making his mark in his first year of Super Rugby.
13. Matias Orlando
The centre was on fire for the Jaguares, finishing with a handy hat trick in their massive win. Special mention to Ruhan Nel who got a double as the Stormers downed the Rebels.
12. Ma’a Nonu
Might have been part of a losing team but put in a classy performance against the Chiefs. Crossed twice and was always a handful for the opponents from Hamilton.
11. Rieko Ioane
Is having a whale of a season. Like Nonu, he might not have got the W, but he was immense as usual. A freakishly good finisher.

10. Domingo Miotti
Pulled the strings perfectly as the Jags embarrassed the Sharks. Miotti marshaled his troops well and kicked seven with the tee, finishing with a personal haul of 16 points.
9. Tomas Cubelli
Like Miotti, another Argentine who makes the team. A great supporter player, he keeps the rucks fast and rarely takes a wrong option. One of the Jaguares’ best.
8. Paul Schoeman
Helped the Bulls to a dominant victory. Worked hard, was tenacious in defence and at times seemed everywhere on he park. Just didn’t stop.
7. Lachlan Boshier
A big night for the 24-year-old open-side. Boshier crossed twice for the Chiefs and was electric at the breakdown. A breakout display.
6. Pablo Matera
One of the Jaguares’ best in their huge result. Scored two meat pies, one a chip and chase for the ages. A forward with the silky skills of a back.
5. RG Snyman
Won the man of the match for the Bulls after a dominant performance. Special mention to Sam Whitelock who put in a great shift for the Crusaders.
4. Brodie Retallick
The Chiefs skipper was all class in his team’s win. Never lets his team-mates down and always leads with his actions.
3. Tyrel Lomax
Had a great battle with opposite number Joe Moody. The Canberra-raised Highlanders prop has been impressive in his second season with the Otago club.
2. Nathan Harris
The Chiefs hooker kept his side’s line-out ticking over. A quiet achiever who rarely puts a foot wrong.
1. James Slipper
Came off the bench to replace Scott Sio and kept the pressure on the Lions pack. Scrummaged well and showed a good pair of hands in keeping the attack flowing. Karl Tu’inukuafe was also eye-catching for the Blues.
