Israel Folau’s code of conduct hearing will extend into a second day after a Rugby Australia statement on Saturday afternoon confirmed it will be continued tomorrow.
Today’s action saw Folau as well as Raelene Castle and Michael Cheika attend the hearing and provide evidence to the panel – no new witnesses are expected to be called tomorrow.
The panel is being chaired by John West QC, who is joined by Kate Eastman SC from Rugby Australia and Rugby Union Players’ Association representative John Boultbee AM.
The hearing is a closed session and so there are no further details available on what occurred at the sesssion. Rugby Australia have reiterated that the panel is not expected to make or deliver a decision tomorrow.
Exactly when a decision is likely to arrive remains unclear.
