The latest episode of the Games of Codes podcast is here to unpack an enormous week for Aussie sports fans.

Few stories captured the worlds attention quite like the Champions League semi-finals, where Liverpool and Tottenham pulled off unbelievable second-leg upsets against their respective opponents in Barcelona and Ajax. Roar football Expert Matthew Galea joins us to reflect on the sheer insanity of these results, and to discuss who will earn a spot in the 2019 A-League grand final.

Then, we dissect the NRL’s upcoming Magic Round at Suncorp Stadium with league Expert AJ Mithen, focusing on some key selection decisions made by Brisbane and New Zealand. The Broncos have dropped James Roberts and Jamayne Isaako for their clash with Manly, while the Warriors have chosen to omit Chanel Harris-Tavita and Issac Luke for Kodi Nikorima’s debut against St George Illawarra.

To cricket, and the World Cup is fast approaching. Brett McKay joins us for an update on Australia’s preparations and what we can take from the squad’s first two warm-up matches against New Zealand, particularly regarding performances from Steve Smith, David Warner and Mitchell Starc.

Last but not least, we look to the AFL and debate who has the worst injury list heading into Round 8.

Note that while we forwent the usual Thursday launch for our second episode this week, we’ll be back to the normal schedule of Tuesdays and Thursdays from next week onwards.
