By The Roar / Editor

With the 2019 Cricket World Cup just weeks away and Australia’s squad locked in, all eyes are on the nation’s best cricketers as they prepare for the tournament.

Australia’s unofficial three-match practice series against New Zealand in Brisbane is little more than a warm-up, but it’s our only look at how each player is tracking before heading to England. There, they’ll play practice matches against England and Sri Lanka before the tournament begins.

Roar cricket Expert Brett McKay joined Andrew Miller and Matt Petherick on Friday’s episode of the Game of Codes podcast to share his thoughts on the squad after two of the three matches against the Black Caps.

Listen to the discussion:

Australia plays its third and final warm-up match against New Zealand today in the squad’s final showing before heading off to England.

Australia’s first World Cup match will be against Afghanistan on Saturday, June 1 at 10:30pm AEST. Check out our full 2019 Cricket World Cup fixtures for a comprehensive breakdown of the tournament schedule.
