The 2019 Cricket World Cup will get underway as hosts England take on an under the radar South Africa. This is The Roar’s guide to streaming the tournament opener online, or watching it on TV in Australia.

The match is scheduled to be played on Thursday, May 30 at 7:30pm (AEST), with The Oval in London playing host.

England come into the tournament as a heavy favourite. Playing on home soil, they are one of the best teams in the world and have been in splendid form over the last 12 months.

South Africa, on the other hand, led by Faf du Plessis and without Dale Steyn for the opener, are flying well under the radar when top tournament hopefuls are talked about.

How to watch the match on TV

This match will be available on Fox Sports and on free to air channel 9Gem through the Nine Network.

The pay television option is Fox Cricket, which can be found at Channel 501, with their coverage starting at 7pm (AEST). 9GEM’s coverage also starts at 7pm which can be found on Channel 92 in metropolitan areas.

How to live stream the match online

If you are looking to stream the match online, there are two options.

One way is to sign up for Kayo Sports, who hold rights to all of Foxtel’s sports channels and other selected events for just $25 per month, meaning they will live stream every match of the tournament.

Alternatively for this specific match, you can stream the coverage provided on Channel 9 through 9Now. However, be aware that Channel Nine is only showing six matches not including the Australian games in the tournament plus the finals.

You can also use the Foxtel App or Foxtel Now to gain access to Foxtel’s channels, however, you will need to ensure you have the sports package to use either.

The Foxtel app is better if you already have a TV subscription, as a valid login will allow you to use it for free.
