The NBA Finals have arrived, with the Toronto Raptors set to take on the Golden State Warriors in a seven-game series to decide the NBA champions for 2018-19. Game 1 is set to be played at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on Friday, May 31 at 11am (AEST).
The Raptors snatched home court advantage for the finals series – their first in franchise history – with the second-best record in the league, only behind that of the Milwaukee Bucks.
Toronto had to go past the Bucks to make the finals, with an inspired effort led by Kawhi Leonard getting them through in a 4-2 series victory during the Eastern Conference Finals.
In the Western Conference, the Golden State Warriors were pushed hard in the semi-finals by the Houston Rockets, but followed that up with a sweep of the Portland Trail Blazers to earn themselves a week off before this big series gets underway.
The Raptors will have home court in Game 1, 2, 5 and 7, while the Warriors will play in the Bay for Game 3, 4 and 6.
Games are generally separated by a two-day break, with the final match of the series – should it be required – set to be played on Monday, June 17.
