Australia will commence their 2019 Cricket World Cup campaign in Bristol against qualifiers Afghanistan. The match is scheduled to be played on Saturday, June 1 at 10:30pm (AEST).

It will be Match 4 of the tournament, with the game set to be played on the Bristol County Ground in England.

Australia come into the tournament boosted by the returns of Steve Smith and David Warner, and have been in good form during their lead-up games.

Afghanistan, on the other hand, had to qualify for the tournament after failing to make the top eight when the ICC Rankings were officially taken ahead of the World Cup getting underway.

They will come into the match as rank outsiders, however, have plenty of talent in the squad and will fancy a chance at causing a major boilover.
