How to watch Australia vs Afghanistan online or on TV: Cricket World Cup live stream, TV guide

Reigning Cricket World Cup champions Australia will get their title defence underway in a game they are expected to win heavily against Afghanistan. This is The Roar’s guide to streaming the match online, or watching it on TV.

The match is scheduled to be played at the Bristol County Ground in England, with the first ball set down for 10:30pm (AEST) on Saturday, June 1.

There are few day-night matches throughout the Cricket World Cup, however, Australia find themselves playing three, which will make it a tough overnight slog for viewers.

Australia won the tournament in 2015, but enter the 2019 tournament with plenty of questions – many of which they will aim to start answering from the word go against a side who had to work their way through a qualifying tournament to play on the biggest stage of them all.

How to watch the match on TV

The best way to watch this match will be through the broadcaster of every match at the Cricket World Cup, Fox Cricket. The coverage there is available with a valid Foxtel TV subscription, however, you will need to ensure the sports package is included.

Coverage on Fox Sports begins at 10pm (AEST).

You can also watch Australia’s games throughout the tournament on the Nine Network, through their secondary channel 9Gem.

How to live stream the match online

Kayo Sports, who have the rights to all of Foxtel’s sports channels and other selected events for $25 per month will be the best option to stream the match online in Australia.

To catch the Fox Sports coverage, you can also use the Foxtel App or Foxtel Now, depending on your circumstances.

The App is the best option if you already have a TV subscription, while Now is the way to go if you only want to stream Foxtel channels.

A free alternative does exist for Australian games, with the Channel 9 coverage available to be streamed on 9Now.
