State of Origin is headed to Perth for the first time in its history on Sunday, June 22. The big game will headline the show, but there is plenty in the lead-up to keep fans interested, and you’ll be able to plan your day out in full with The Roar’s full day schedule for Game 2 of the 2019 series.
While Game 2 of the Origin series itself is scheduled to kick-off at 7:50pm (AEST) – 5:50pm (AWST), the gates to Optus Stadium will open over two hours earlier with a curtain-raiser and pre-match entertainment set to set the scene.

The pre-game will see the under 23 women’s representative sides from Western Australia and the Northern Territory do battle. It will start at 5:20pm (AEST), which is just five minutes after gates open.
They will play shorter halves than the NRL contest and have a shorter halftime break, so that match is set to finish at around 6:40pm (AEST).
The groundstaff will then set up for the pre-match entertainment, which is set to feature Australian alternative rock band Eskimo Joe. They will begin their set at 7:15pm (AEST).
The teams are then expected to enter Optus Stadium about five minutes before kick-off, with the national anthem ceremony to follow.
Halftime in the potentially series-deciding match will be at around 8:40pm (AEST), and all going to plan, it’ll wrap up at around quarter to ten on the east coast, which is quarter to eight in Perth.
5:15pm: Gates open at Optus Stadium
5:20pm: Western Australia vs Northern Territory, under 23 women kick-off
5:55pm: Western Australia vs Northern Territory, under 23 women halftime
6:05pm: Western Australia vs Northern Territory, under 23 women second half kick-off
6:40pm: Western Australia vs Northern Territory, under 23 women fulltime
7:15pm: Pre-match entertainment featuring Eskimo Joe commences
7:45pm: Teams enter Optus Stadium
7:47pm: National anthem ceremony
7:50pm: State of Origin Game 2, kick-off
8:40pm: State of Origin Game 2, halftime
8:55pm: State of Origin Game 2, second half kick-off
9:45pm: State of Origin Game 2, fulltime
