The all-important Game 2 of the 2019 State of Origin series takes place tonight between the NSW Blues and Queensland Maroons. This is The Roar‘s guide to live streaming the match and watching it on TV.

Origin 2 will kick off at 7:50pm (AEST) tonight at Perth’s Optus Stadium (5:50pm local time). It’s the first time the interstate competition has been played in Western Australia.

Entering the series as warm favourites, New South Wales went down to Queensland 18-14 in Game 1. But they’ve stunned everyone in the weeks since, making a whopping seven changes to their team and axing superstar centre Latrell Mitchell.

How to live stream Origin 2 online

As above, there’s only one way to legally live stream Origin 2 in Australia, and that’s through Channel Nine’s streaming application 9Now.

9Now is free – although it does require the creation of an account – and allows you to watch the Network’s broadcast on your preferred device. 9Now’s Origin coverage also offers additional features, like alternative camera angles. Please note that 9Now is only guaranteed to work in Australia.

If you have an NRL Digital Pass subscription, unfortunately, it’s not going to be any help. In 2019, just as it was last year, the Live Pass does not include State of Origin.

Foxtel or Kayo subscribers won’t be able to live stream Origin 2, but will be able to watch replays of the match after it’s all over.

If you are trying to stream the game from outside Australia, the only option is to use WatchNRL, a subscription service for streaming the NRL overseas.

How to watch Origin 2 on TV

The only way to watch Game 2 on TV will be via the Nine Network.

The free-to-air broadcaster will have coverage from 7pm (AEST), immediately after the news in eastern states and roughly 50 minutes before Game 2 actually kicks off.

For viewers in different timezones, Nine’s coverage will only begin 20 minutes prior to kick-off (7pm in ACST and 5:30pm in AWST).

There’ll be roughly an hour of post-game coverage in each state, finishing at 10:40pm (AEST).

As always, The Roar will have extensive coverage of Origin 2, including a live blog, video highlights, expert analysis and a podcast recapping the big game.
