The 2019 Cricket World Cup semi-finals begin tonight, with top seed at warm overall favourites India doing battle with underdogs New Zealand. This is The Roar’s guide to streaming the match online, or watching it on TV.

The first-versus-fourth matchup will commence at 7:30pm (AEST) on Tuesday, July 9 at Manchester’s Old Trafford Cricket Ground.

India topped the group with a record of seven wins and one loss following favourable results on the final day of the group stages. New Zealand started the tournament in superb form, winning their first five matches to sit atop the table, but fell to fourth with three heavy losses in succession.

The group stage match between these two countries was abandoned without a ball bowled due to adverse weather. The forecast for Manchester is iffy for this semi-final too. In the event of another abandonment, India will progress to the final by virtue of being the higher-seeded team.

How to watch the match on TV

The first semi-final will be available through free-to-air or pay TV.

Fox Sports have had every match of the World Cup broadcast live, with no ad breaks during play, and will be broadcasting the semi-finals live too via Fox Cricket (channel 501). Their India-New Zealand coverage begins an hour before the first ball – at 6:30pm (AEST) – and will run right through until roughly 4am the following morning.

A valid Foxtel TV subscription – with the sports package included – is required if you want to access Fox Cricket’s coverage, however.

The free-to-air option is Channel Nine’s offshoot network 9Gem, who will have coverage beginning from 6:30pm, but concluding half an hour earlier.
