UPDATE: State of Origin Game 3 kicked off at 8:14pm.
State of Origin 3 is scheduled to kick-off at 8:10pm (AEST) tonight. However, if you know your Queensland Maroons versus NSW Blues history, you’ll know there’s roughly zero chance of the game actually starting on time.

Origin kick off time has become a bit of a running joke in the rugby league community over the past couple of years, to the point that kick-off bingo has become everyone’s favourite pre-match game. So be sure to tell us in the comments and the form below what time you reckon tonight’s decider is going to get underway.
To be fair, the Origin start times in 2019 have been running closer to schedule than they have in previous years. Games 1 and 2 got started at 8:12 and 7:55, just two and five minutes after their scheduled kick-offs respectively. So maybe Game 3 will begin close to the 8:10 schedule we’ve got.
However, earlier years’ editions began as late as 8:25, and with the decider sure to draw a massive audience, there’s certainly some incentive for tonight to run a little later than expected.
There’s a fair bit of pre-game activity going on at ANZ Stadium before the main event gets underway. First up, the Origin Under 20s match will be played as a curtain-raiser from 5:15-6:50, before the pre-match entertainment, headlined by Guy Sebastian, begins at 7:30.
That’s scheduled to run for 20 minutes, before the New South Wales and Queensland teams enter the field for the Welcome To Country, National Anthem and the match itself afterwards.
