Australia’s Rugby Championship campaign couldn’t not have possibly started any worse, with an error-riddled performance leading to a 35-17 loss to a Springboks side missing some regular starters.

From the minute Herschel Jantjies crossed early in the piece, the Wallabies were on the back foot as they struggled to contain the South Africans, extending their horror winless run in Johannesburg to a 56th year.
