It’s one of the biggest days on the 2019 sporting calendar, and episode 32 of our Game of Codes podcast is here to put it all under the microscope.

We’ve got a mega-preview lined up for the first Ashes test, before tackling both the NRL and AFL.

First up it’s, of course, the Ashes first Test special. We get Roar cricket expert Glenn Mitchell on the phone to break down the match from every angle.

What are the keys for Australia? What are the keys for England? Just how important is this series in the context of international Test cricket and Ashes history?

If cricket just isn’t your thing, don’t worry – we get to other sports too. We head to the NRL with Roar rugby league expert Mary Konstantopoulos try to work out just where it’s gone wrong for the Newcastle Knights over the last month and a half. Should Nathan Brown be in trouble?

Finally, it’s over to the AFL where Roar AFL expert and editor Stirling Coates jumps on to make a call on whether St Kilda – yes, the Saints – can pull off one of the most unlikely finals appearances in recent history.

Catch the episode in the player above and head to our Game of Codes hub to listen to Thursday’s edition. Be sure to subscribe and review on iHeartRadio, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts or wherever else you’re listening.
