It’s time for you twice-weekly fix of sports podcasting on The Roar, with episode 33 of our Game of Codes podcast tackling all the washup from last weekend and looking ahead to crunch time.

Unfortunately, we had to record before the fifth day of the first Ashes Test, so we’ll tackle all the talking points from whatever the hell the result was on our Thursday episode!

First up, we head to the top of the AFL ladder with Roar AFL expert and editor Josh Elliott and work out just where it’s gone wrong for the Cats since the bye.

Then, we look at the crucial remaining finals spots and work out who sneaks into the eight with three weeks to go.

It’s over to the NRL next with Roar rugby league expert Tim Gore. Who is the biggest threat to the Melbourne Storm this season? Is it someone from outside the top four?

Then, we have a look at the Penrith Panthers – have they thrown their finals spot away after such a good run of form?

Finally, we cast our eye to the Bledisloe Cup with Roar rugby expert Brett McKay. Who should the Wallabies be looking to pick ahead of Bledisloe Cup Game 1?

Catch the episode in the player above and head to our Game of Codes hub to listen to Tuesday’s edition. Be sure to subscribe and review on iHeartRadio, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts or wherever else you’re listening.
