Cronulla Sharks legend Paul Gallen will hang the boots up at the end of the 2019 NRL season.

The 342-game veteran will retire as the club’s all-time leader in games played, as well as being the skipper for their long-awaited maiden premiership in 2016.

So, to send Gallen off in style, the Sharks will wear a special jersey in tribute of the great man when they play the Canberra Raiders in Round 24 – his last home-and-away game at Shark Park.

The only problem? It’s hideous.

What in the world is this? (Photo: Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks)

Where do you start with this monstrosity? A printed photo of Gallen on the jersey? What a mess.

Not a classy silhouette, not just a signature, not his name or nickname, a full-colour photograph plonked on the front of the jumper and it’s not even centred.

Then you’ve got an unnecessarily long list of career achievements next to it that’s far too hard to read on the field.

Moving further up you’ve got a local roofer sponsoring the thing which – no disrespect to Durakote, I’m sure they offer fantastic service – just makes the whole thing look like a local league jersey.

That’s not to mention the lack of any black on the shirt making the thing look more like a Gold Coast Titans shirt than Cronulla.

What do you think Roarers? Are we spot on, or too harsh? Let us know in the comments below.
