Australia are set to make their official start to Basketball World Cup preparations as they play host to Canada for two games. This is The Roar’s guide to live streaming both matches online, as well as watching them on TV in Australia.

The matches will both tip-off at 7:30pm and are set to be played at the RAC Arena in Perth, with Game 1 on Friday, August 16 and Game 2 on Saturday, August 17.

For Australia, this is the first of two series on home soil before the World Cup as they play the USA in Melbourne next weekend, while Canada will also take on the USA and New Zealand in Sydney before flying out to China.

How to watch the series on TV

Under a new deal with the NBL, these pre-World Cup warm-up matches for Australia against both Canada and the United States of America will be shown on SBS.

The network have rights to all NBL games tipping off before 7:30pm (AEST) this year, and will show these matches aganist Canada on their secondary channel, SBS Viceland.

It can be found at Channel 32, with coverage to start at 7:30pm (AEST).

How to live stream the series online

Because SBS hold the exclusive broadcast and digital rights to this series of matches in Australia, the only way you’ll be able to watch the matches on the go is to tune in through their online streaming service.

This is known as SBS on Demand and is completely free to use once you have signed up with a valid email address and any other details requested by the SBS.

The coverage shown through their live stream will be exactly what you would see on TV.
