The Ashes will roll onto Headingley as the third Test gets underway between England and Australia. The match is scheduled to start at 8pm (AEST) on Thursday, August 22.
The Australians come into the second Test holding the advantage, leading the series 1-0 after their opening surprise win at Edgbaston, which was followed up by a gritty draw at Lord’s.
However, the Aussies will be without Steve Smith, who already has two centuries and a half-century to his name in three innings, after he was hit by a Jofra Archer bouncer at Lord’s and has since been ruled out with concussion.
England are in an almost must-win position in this match. If Australia win, they will retain the Ashes, while a draw would leave England needing to win both of the remaining Tests at Old Trafford and The Oval to reclaim the urn.
