The rivalry that is the North London derby is set to reignite once again as Arsenal take on their biggest rivals at the Emirates Stadium on Monday morning AEST.

Both sides will be looking to go back to winning ways after losing their third game in the EPL.

Tottenham started off their season with a 3-1 win against newly promoted Aston Villa, although they were behind for 64 minutes and needed new signing Tanguy Ndombele and Harry Kane to get them out of jail. They had to come from behind twice away to defending champions Manchester City as they drew two-all with some help from VAR.

Despite dominating nearly every aspect at home against Newcastle, Tottenham somehow lost 1-0 to the Magpies – gifting them their first few points in the EPL.

From what I’ve seen of Tottenham so far, they would be worried that they couldn’t keep a clean sheet against Aston Villa and Newcastle at home, let alone Man City. Christian Eriksen’s future has affected the squad, with manager Mauricio Pochettino admitting they are unsettled after the loss to Newcastle.

Their record at the Emirates isn’t great either and facing their biggest rivals when their squad is unsettled may be a challenge coming at the worst time.

Following Arsenal’s scratchy 1-0 win at Newcastle, the Gunners continued their impressive home form with Dani Ceballos running rings against Burnley as they won 2-1. But any Gunners fans who thought they had any chance of winning the league were given a dose of reality check as Liverpool thrashed Arsenal 3-1 at Anfield.

However, that was expected as Liverpool have been undefeated at Anfield for over 40 games now.

New signing Nicholas Pepe has caused problems against defenders and seems to be worth every pound Arsenal spent on him. He just needs one goal to really kickstart his Arsenal career and emulate the form that he produced with Lille last season. David Luiz did make some stupid mistakes last week but has the perfect opportunity to make up for it by ensuring Harry Kane is kept quiet throughout the game.

Sports opinion delivered daily

Arsenal’s record at the Emirates stadium was close to impeccable last season – losing only three games. While form doesn’t really count in derbies, Arsenal start as favourites and could make a statement if the trio of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alex Lacazette and Pepe all start.

I’m predicting a 4-2 win for Arsenal.

Arsenal predicted XI
Bernd Leno, Ainsley Maitland Niles, Calum Chambers, David Luiz, Sokratis, Sead Kolasinac, Lucas Torreira, Dani Ceballos, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Nicholas Pepe.

Tottenham predicted XI
Hugo Lloris, Kyle Walker-Peters, Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderwield, Danny Rose, Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko, Erik Lamela, Heung Min Son, Lucas Moura, Harry Kane.
