Valentine Holmes will get his final chance to impress in the NFL pre-season when the New York Jets face off with the Philadelphia Eagles at MetLife Stadium in New York. The match is scheduled to kick-off at 9am (AEST) on Friday, August 30.

The Australian former NRL star, who is following in the footsteps of Jarryd Hayne and taking a punt on making it in the NFL had a fairly uninspiring performance in last week’s 28-13 loss for the Jets as they took on the New Orleans Saints.

While it’s starting to look like there may be no place for the Aussie on the Jets final 53-man roster when the season gets underway in just a couple of weeks, this will serve as one final chance for him to make the grade.

Holmes could still spend the year on the Jets practice roster if he misses the 53-man group, but the code-hopping star, who was given a chance as kick and punt returner in his last outing for uninspiring results isn’t giving up on the dream yet.

“It’s obviously good to have a fallback kind of plan that I can stick around here for as long as I can,” Holmes told AAP.

“But obviously everyone in this room, their main goal should be to make that 53 because that’s what we’re all here to do.”

Broadcast information

While ESPN show selected NFL and NFL pre-season games, they don’t have any available on Friday morning, which means the match isn’t live on TV in Australia.

You will, however, be able to live stream the action. To do this, you’ll need to use the NFL Game Pass, using the pro subscription.

This will set you back $274.99 for the year, but does get you access to every NFL game and pre-season contest, network shows, highlights and RedZone every week.

The NFL Network, which is available for free, unfortunately only have the game on replay.

Here at The Roar, you’ll be able to follow the game with our live scores and blog, as well as video highlights.
