Both the Australian Boomers and Lithuania are through to the second round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup, but that doesn’t make their final Round 1 game to be played on Thursday, September 5 in Dongguan any less important.

Tip-off in the clash is scheduled for 9:30pm (AEST), which is 5:30pm local time in China, with it to be played at the Dongguan Basketball Centre.

Australia come into the game having won their two matches against Canada and Senegal, but neither performance has been all that convincing.

The supposed group of death has really been anything but, with Lithuania accounting for the two other sides fairly easily as well.

While both teams have assured passage to the second round, this is still hugely important, with results against teams who qualified for the next round being carried over on the ladder, meaning one team will start the second round with a one and zero record, and the other with a zero and one record.
