Danny Frawley killed in car accident

Former AFL player, coach and Fox Sports commentator Danny Frawley has died aged 56.

Frawley’s car was involved in an accident in Millbrook, near Geelong, this afternoon.

A Victoria Police statement said “Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash in Millbrook this afternoon. It’s believed the vehicle left the road and struck a tree at the intersection of Old Melbourne and Sullivans Road just after 1.30pm.”

“The yet to be formally identified driver and only occupant of the vehicle died at the scene.”

“The exact cause of the crash is yet to be determined at this stage.” The statement concluded.

Frawley was a former captain of St Kilda and enjoyed an incredible career between 1984 and 1995.

Once he retired from playing, Frawley was the senior coach of Richmond between 2000 and 2004, before heading to Hawthorn and St Kilda.

Frawley also co-hosted Bounce on Fox Footy.
