The Socceroos will get their FIFA World Cup qualifyng campaign underway on Wednesday morning when they travel to play Kuwait in an important opening match. This is The Roar’s guide to live streaming the match online, or watching it on TV.

The match is scheduled to be played at the Al Kuwait Sports Club Stadium in Kuwait City, with kick-off set down for 1:30am (AEST) on Wednesday, September 11.

While Australia are expected to cruise through the second round of qualification after getting a bye through the first, Jordan and Kuwait in their group will potentially cause problems for Graham Arnold’s side, with only the top two sides going through to the third round of qualification for the cup.

The second round features ten matches per team, with Chinese Taipei and Nepal being Australia’s other two opponents they will face over the next 12 or so months.

How to watch Australia vs Kuwait on TV

In the qualifiers of the FIFA World Cup for matches played on the road, TV networks deal with each football board to attain the rights.

For this match in Kuwait, Fox Sports will have the live and exclusive rights back to Australia, with the coverage to begin at 1am (AEST) – half an hour before kick-off – on Fox Sports 505, which is normally the station they elect to broadcast football on.

To watch the match on TV in Australia, you will need to ensure you’re set up with a valid Foxtel TV subscription, which is also complete with the sports package.
