Who was the biggest winner from Week 1 of the AFL finals?

The first week of the AFL finals may be in the books, but there’s still plenty to play out between now and the grand final.

West Coast and Greater Western Sydney both enjoyed massive blowout victories in their elimination finals, while Collingwood and Richmond punched their tickets to the preliminary finals – but who was the biggest winner from the weekend?

Are Richmond in the box seat following their demolition of the Lions – or does their tricky draw work against them? Have Collingwood returned to their supreme early-season form?

Have West Coast or Greater Western Sydney put their names back in the premiership conversation with emphatic elimination final wins?

We were joined by Roar AFL expert Marnie Cohen on the Game of Codes podcast to make a call on who’s got the biggest grin following the weekend of action.

The Tigers looked nigh unstoppable at times in their big win up at the Gabba, but easily have the hardest preliminary final opponent in either Geelong or West Coast. Collingwood, on the other hand, will get a crack at either Brisbane or GWS – who both play poorly at the MCG.
