The UFC Mexico crowd made their feelings known after the main event bout had to be called off after just 15 seconds following an injury to Jeremy Stephens.

Stephens copped an accidental poke to the eye from Yair Rodriguez, which left the latter unable to open his left eye.

Referee Herb Dean gave the American the allocated five minutes to see if he could recover from the injury, yet when doctors declared Stephens was still hampered by it, the official was forced to rule the fight a no contest.

The fans were left fuming, having waited all night for the showdown between the seventh and eighth-ranked fighters in the featherweight division.

However, in disgraceful scenes, some members of the crowd threw projectiles into the octagon.

The crowd later calmed down, with Rodriguez apologising that the fight had to be called off early over the accident.
