One of 2019’s biggest weekends has wrapped up, with the AFL grand final being run, the NRL grand finalists being decided and Australia’s most important Rugby World Cup group match going in the books.

It’s a lot to fit into one podcast episode, but we’ll do our best on Game of Codes Episode 48.

We begin with a look back at the AFL grand final Roar footy expert Marnie Cohen. With Richmond securing their second premiership in three seasons in emphatic fashion, we ask the question; can anyone catch them? What does the rest of the competition need to do to close the gap?

Then, we turn our attention to the Giants. When grand finalists have been smashed in recent years, they’ve had pretty disappointing seasons the year after. Will GWS fall victim to the same curse?

After that, it’s over to the NRL with Roar rugby league expert AJ Mithen. Did South Sydney’s premiership window close with their loss to Canberra on Friday night? Where do the Melbourne Storm go from here?

We finish up in the Rugby World Cup with Roar rugby expert Brett McKay. We look at where it wrong for the Wallabies against Wales, before tackling the issue of contentious refereeing at this year’s World Cup.

Catch the episode in the player above and head to our Game of Codes hub to listen to Tuesday’s edition. Be sure to subscribe and review on iHeartRadio, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts or wherever else you’re listening.
