We’re officially into the 2019 AFL trade period and, while very little in the way of actual moves went down yesterday, there’s still plenty to discuss.

With Essendon and Geelong looking set to demand extremely high prices from Sydney and West Coast for Joe Daniher and Tim Kelly, respectively, it looks like a lot of the next week will be spent speculating how those deals will end up getting done.

But which other clubs hold the key? Which other deals need to get done to pull the thread loose and get the trades flowing this season?

We were joined in studio on the Game of Codes podcast by Roar AFL expert and editor Stirling Coates to analyse the goings-on of Day 1 and work out just how the dominoes will end up falling between now and the end of the trade period, while also touching on the latest free agency news.

The Roar will have comprehensive coverage of the trade period right up until the deadline, with a blog of each day’s rumours and official transactions.

Visit our Game of Codes hub to catch the full episode and be sure to subscribe and review on iHeartRadio, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts or wherever else you’re listening.
