There’s been plenty to talk about at this year’s Rugby World Cup, but one thing that’s caught the eye of fans and journalists alike is the high number of red cards being handed out.

In fact, we’ve had more red cards already in this World Cup than any other previous edition of the tournament.

Have the refs been too keen to give players their marching orders? Has something changed at World Rugby’s end? Or have this year’s crop of players simply been more ill-disciplined than their predecessors?

We got Roar rugby expert Geoff Parkes on the
Game of Codes podcast to assess the situation and make a call on whether red card mania really has gone too far, or whether this spate of send-offs is fair game.

Before that, however, we crack into the Wallabies’ latest group stage performance against Uruguay – a 45-10 win.

It may have been a bonus-point victory, but did Michael Cheika’s side do enough to impress, or should fans be worried ahead of the knockout stage?
