A controversy-packed NRL grand final, the start of the AFL trade period and a red card epidemic at the Rugby World Cup? Sounds like there’s a lot to break down on a very special episode 50 of The Roar’s Game of Codes podcast!
We start off with the NRL grand final first as Roar rugby league expert – and aggrieved Canberra Raiders supporter – Tim Gore joins us to dissect the game. We spend some time looking at the game itself, analysing where the Roosters won it and the Raiders lost it, before putting the blowtorch on the NRL over the two enormous blunders that have overshadowed the result.
Next up, we recap day one of the AFL trade period with Roar footy expert and editor Stirling Coates. We look at how the big trades will get done, before shining a light on some lesser-known trade prospects.
Finally, Roar rugby expert Geoff Parkes joins us all the way from Japan to make a call on whether the Wallabies did enough against Uruguay, as well as whether the referees have been too red card-happy at the World Cup.
