Disappointment descended on the land of the long white cloud on the weekend, with the All Blacks thoroughly outclassed by England in a surprisingly one-sided semi-final.

The Rugby World Cup favourites will instead play Wales on Friday for the ‘honour’ of third place, after the 19-7 loss saw their tournament end in stunning fashion.

Steve Hansen’s side simply never looked like getting close, with the scoreline not revealing the English actually had an additional two tries disallowed by the TMO.

We were joined by Roar rugby expert Geoff Parkes on the Game of Codes podcast to dissect the stunning result and try to pinpoint just where New Zealand were bested.

That wasn’t the only semi-final to go under the microscope, with the panel also getting stuck into the dour, defensive struggle on Sunday night that saw South Africa advance. What did we learn from the 19-16 result? Did the Springboks do enough to prove they can challenge England?
