Which Australia A players will crack into the Test side?

It’ll be a blisteringly strong Australia A side to take on Pakistan ahead of the first Test next month – with the match very clearly and opportunity for certain players to press their selection claims.

With the Test side still far from settled despite a successful Ashes campaign – not to mention the wildly varied Sheffield Shield fortunes of certain players – there are definitely still baggy greens up for grabs.

Who’s got the opportunity to get themselves to the Gabba for the first Test?

We got Roar cricket expert and editor Scott Pryde on the Game of Codes podcast to examine the XI that’s been picked for this one and make a call on who can make the Test side.

Listen to the debate in the player above.

With David Warner’s spot atop the order seemingly safe, it’ll be up to Marcus Harris or Joe Burns to impress enough and join him at the crease. The middle order looks to have a spot available too, while there’s also an outside chance for someone to inject themselves into the pace attack.

Australia A XI
1. Marcus Harris
2. Joe Burns
3. Usman Khawaja
4. Will Pucovski
5. Travis Head
6. Nic Maddinson
7. Alex Carey (c) (wk)
8. Michael Neser
9. Jhye Richardson
10. Sean Abbott
11. Riley Meredith
