Derby Day, one of the biggest days on Australia’s racing calendar, and the day which kicks off the Melbourne Cup Carnival, will have its headline race when a strong field take on the 2500-metre Victoria Derby. This is The Roar’s guide to live streaming the race online, or watching it on TV.

The race, which will be run over a distance of 2500 metres on Saturday, November 2, is set to get underway at 3:45pm (AEDT), and will be held at the Flemington Racecourse.

Derby Day is known as one of the most exciting racing days on the calendar, and this year promises to be no different ahead of the final field being announced and barrier draw conducted for the Melbourne Cup this evening.

How to watch the Victoria Derby on TV

As with the entire Spring Carnival and Melbourne Cup Carnival, the Victoria Derby is televised in a number of ways in Australia.

The easiest way to tune into all the action from Flemington under a new TV rights deal will be through the Ten Network, who have the rights to the Melbourne Cup Carnival from this year.

Their broadcast begins at 11am (AEDT) in the morning and will show all of the day’s races from Flemington on their main channel.

You’ll also be able to tune into the race through Racing.com, which is available on Channel 78 through free to air TV or Channel 529 if watching through a Foxtel service, with the station holding rights to all thoroughbred racing in both Victoria and South Australia, meaning their coverage may jump away from Flemington.

The other way to watch the race is through Sky Racing, who broadcast every race from around Australia and New Zealand. This is a Foxtel-only channel and can be found on Channel 522.

For any of the methods mentioning Foxtel, you will need a valid Foxtel TV subscription to watch the broadcast.
