Race 4 on Melbourne Cup Day has been run and won, with Shared Ambition taking out the Macca’s Run as expected.
Coming into the race as the shortest-priced favourite of the entire day at Flemington at $1.40, Shared Ambition looked to be in trouble with 700 metres to go, caught in heavy traffic and stuck on the fence.

But jockey Nash Rawiller was able to find a line on the inside to take the Chris Waller-trained horse ahead of the pack and pass the post first by around a length and a half.
Creedence crossed in second place, and a photo finish had Big Blue in third ahead of Gayatri in fourth.
