Ultimately, a post-race protest changed the result of the race. Prince of Arran originally finished third but was promoted to second after a steward-lodged protest against Master of Reality was upheld.
As such, the official third-place finisher is Il Paradiso.
Il Paradiso is a four-year-old chestnut horse trained by Aidan O’Brien and jockeyed by Wayne Lordan.
First place: Vow and Declare
Second place: Prince of Arran
Third place: Il Paradiso
For trivia players, the third-place finishers over the last three years were Prince of Arran last year, Max Dynamite in 2017 and Hartnell in 2016.
