Justin Langer, Mary McGregor plus next year's AFL risers and fallers

11th November, 2019

It may be the offseason in most of Australia’s biggest sports, but that doesn’t mean The Roar’s Game of Codes podcast is taking its foot off the pedal.

Episode 60 sees us take a look at three coaches – in different sports – on everyone’s lips, before looking ahead to some potential movers and shakers in the AFL world next year.

We start with Roar cricket expert David Schout as we look back on Australia’s strong T20 form. How much credit does previously embattled coach Justin Langer deserve for getting us up and running in our worst format?

Or, have our opponents just been plain awful and we can’t take anything away?

Next, we examine whether Ernie Merrick should be feeling nervous about another poor start to an A-League season by his Newcastle Jets with Roar football expert Mike Tuckerman.

Mary McGregor is the next man in the spotlight, with Roar rugby league expert AJ Mithen joining us to make a call on just how long his leash will be next season.

Finally, we look ahead to the AFL with Roar expert Marnie Cohen. Which players are set to have a breakout season? Who’s massively under the pump?
