It’s never too early to look ahead to the next NRL season – so that’s exactly what we’re doing.
Like we did on Tuesday’s episode of the Game of Codes podcast, but for AFL, we’ll be looking ahead to the 2020 rugby league season and working out which players are the most likely to have a breakout year, as well as who’s feeling the pressure.
This year, we saw the likes of Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, Addin Fonua-Blake and Felise Kaufusi – among others – take it to the next level. Other players, like Tyrone Peachey, Jesse Ramien and the entire St George Illawarra Dragons side take a few steps backwards.
So, who’s set to break out in 2020 and who enters the new year in desperate need of a career turnaround?
We were joined on the Game of Codes podcast by Roar rugby league expert Tim Gore to look at the players most likely to move up an echelon in 2020, as well as the players whose careers could be in jeopardy.
