Yesterday, we crowned Alastair Clarkson the coach of the decade in the AFL. Today, it’s rugby league’s turn as we look to crown a coach of the decade in the NRL.
Craig Bellamy, the emperor of the ‘evil’ empire that is the Melbourne Storm, starts as the warm favourite, but there’s a lot to be said in favour of reigning back-to-back premiership coach Trent Robinson.
Robinson has lifted the Provan-Summons trophy three times already in just seven seasons as Roosters coach, while Bellamy has two premierships from four grand final appearances with the Storm this decade.
Has Robinson done enough to unseat the NRL’s sith lord? Does Bellamy still have the wood over his contemporaries?
Or, is there a dark horse lurking in left field none of us are considering?
We were joined on the Game of Codes podcast by Roar rugby league expert Joe Frost to try and split the two and make a call on who deserves the title of coach of the 2010s.
