Cricket fans, rejoice. The Test summer is finally underway! Australia’s first home Test of the summer gets underway at The Gabba against Pakistan this morning, with warm favouritism blowing at the backs of the home side.
Pakistan’s record in Australia is nothing short of dismal, with the Shaheens not winning a Test on Aussie soil since November 1995.
As such, anything short of a comprehensive 2-0 Test sweep would have to be considered a failure for an Australian side still somewhat buoyed by their Ashes success overseas.
How much can Australia take from their T20 dominance into this Test match? Can someone outside of David Warner and Steve Smith actually make runs? Will this be a simple task for the in-form Aussies, or have we all been sleeping on the visitors?
We were joined on the Game of Codes podcast by Roar cricket expert David Schout to preview the first Test, make a call on how it will all go down, before giving some proper attention to Pakistan and assessing their chances of causing an upset.
