Earlier this week, we named our AFL coach of the decade (no surprise, it was Alastair Clarkson). Today, we’re naming the best AFL premiership side of the decade.

UPDATE: Voting has now closed. The results will be revealed on tomorrow’s episode of Game of Codes.

While we don’t intend to take any gloss or shine off any flag winners, we have to do the dirty work of separating the contenders from the ‘pretenders’ in this discussion.

Does one of Clarkson’s three-peat Hawkthorn sides make the cut, or does a Damien Hardwick-led Tiger side take out the top gong?

Do the Collingwood of drawn grand final fame rate a mention? Geelong of 2011? What about the surprise packets in Sydney of 2012 or West Coast of 2018? Or, do the fairytale Bulldogs of 2016 deserve the honour?

We were joined on the Game of Codes podcast by Roar AFL expert and editor Stirling Coates to look at the flag winners of the 2010s and make a call on which one was the very best.
