The Latrell Mitchell contract saga took yet another turn yesterday, with Wests Tigers – thought to be the short-priced favourites to land his signature – sensationally pulling out of the race.

Whether their four-year, $3.8 million deal just wasn’t enough to satisfy him, or whether he just hasn’t gotten back to them fast enough, a move to Leichhardt seems incredibly unlikely.

The move sees Wests join his current club, the Roosters, the Bulldogs and – in all likelihood – the Cowboys as having withdrawn contract offers from the star centre. Sensationally, the Gold Coast Titans now firm as his most likely destination.
