The Women’s Big Bash League season comes to a head this weekend at Brisbane’s Allan Border Field, with the WBBL05 semi-finals and grand final getting underway.

It all kicks off at 11:10am, when the Adelaide Strikers take on the Perth Scorchers, before the hometown heroes and first-place finishers Brisbane tackle the Melbourne Renegades.

The Heat are looking to go back-to-back and, in the shock absence of last year’s runners-up – the Sydney Sixers – they’re the very warm favourites to do so.

But, with English international duty hamstringing some teams, there’s an air of unpredictability as to how it will play out.

So, we got Roar cricket expert Mary Konstantopoulos on the Game of Codes podcast to try and make sense of it all. She points out the players to watch, the ones who need to fire and the ones who’ll be sorely missed, before making a call on who wins each semi-final and, ultimately, who’ll end up winning it all.
