All the action from Round 11 summed up in the one spot.

Wanderers 1-1 United
The Wanderers were desperate to snap their losing streak when they hosted United. Both sides failed to make their mark in the opening half, the first going goalless.

The first goal of the game wouldn’t arrive until the 79th minute of the game with Keanu Baccus setting up Patrick Ziegler from the corner to put the Wanderers ahead. The home side looked to en-route for their first victory since October 26th, but United struck late.

Aaron Calver the unlikely hero courtesy of a Connor Pain assist. The game ending as a 1-1 draw with the Wanderers snapping their losing streak.

Player of the game: Aaron Calver: Put in an impressive performance on the wing for his side, as well as scoring a vital goal in the closing moments of the game.

Phoenix 2-2 Sydney FC
The Phoenix were feeling confident going into the home clash against ladder leaders Sydney FC having gone unbeaten in the last four games. But it was the away side who struck the first blow, Adam Le Fondre finishing off a clever pass by Kosta Barbarouses in the 14th minute.

The Phoenix responded through Reno Piscopo who was setup by David Ball for the equaliser in the 25th minute. The Phoenix went on to reverse the deficit from none other than Ulises Davila who put the home side 2-1 up going into the break.

The Phoenix looked on the verge of an upset until distaster struck in the 56th minute, Steven Taylor netting an own goal. And that’s how the scores remained with both sides sharing the points.

Player of the game – Ulises Davila: Impressive again in his game against Sydney. Scored a crucial goal for his side, heavily involved in his side’s attack.

Victory 2-1 City
The Victory were eager to turn their season around, and a win over crosstown rivals City would be the perfect way to do it. And it was marksman Ola Toivonen who got the game off to proceedings in the 15th minute, heading home to put the Victory ahead.

Toivonen then scored a brace in the 41st minute putting his side 2-0 ahead, the Victory going with a shock lead into the break. City would pull one back in the second half, with Harrison Delbridge heading home in the 56th minute, but it wasn’t enough as the Victory held on 2-1 in the Melbourne derby.

Player of the game – Ola Toivonen: Scored two goals while carrying an injury to help inspire his side to an unlikely win.

Glory 6-2 Jets
With both sides sharing the points in the first encounter of the season, the Glory and Jets set out to ensure they’d leave with all three points the second time around. Glory broke the deadlock in the 15th minute through Diego Castro.

Nikolai Tapor-Stanley for the Jets scoring the equaliser in the 26th minute of the game. Neil Kilkenny then putting the Glory back in front in the 33rd minute.

The Glory added another through Joel Chianese in the 46th minute, putting the home side 3-1 ahead. Steven Peter Ugarkovic responded for the Jets in the 51st minute, in what was becoming a goalfest of a match.

The Glory would go on to add another three goals in the 58th, 70th and 83rd minute through Bruno Fornaroli and Diego Castro. The game ending in a 6-2 victory in what was a demolition by the Glory.

Player of the game – Diego Castro: Scored two goals and assisted two goals, helping to pave the way to a dominant display.

Central Coast Mariners 2-1 Adelaide United
The Marines hosted United for the second time this season and started the game the way they started in their first meeting, scoring the opener.

Gianni Stensness setting up Kyle Rowles inside the first five minutes of the game. Milan Djuric came up trumps after his shot from long range found the back of net putting the Mariners 2-0 up in 42nd minute going into the break. Ben Halloran scored a consolation prize in the 46th minute for United, but it wasn’t enough.

The Mariners taking all three points, putting them only two points off a top six spot.

Player of the game – Milan Djuric: Scored a great goal from long range to put his side ahead, inspiring his team to victory. Also displayed his efficient passing skills.
