The Test summer comes to a close at the SCG, with Australia looking to complete the sweep of New Zealand in the New Year’s Test. This is The Roar’s guide to live streaming the match, or watching it on TV.

This Test is also known as the ‘pink Test’, with money raised across the five days to help fund breast cancer research.

The third Trans-Tasman Test will start on Friday, January 3, with the first ball scheduled to be bowled at 10:30am (AEDT). Each day of play should finish at 5:30pm, although play can continue until 6pm each day if there have been rain or smoke delays.

If all five days are needed to produce a result, the Test will end on Tuesday, January 7.

How to watch the New Year’s Test on TV

If you want to watch this Test on TV, you can do so via either Fox Cricket or Channel 7.

Fox Cricket (Foxtel channel 501) is arguably the better coverage as it is free of ads during play. That said, a valid Foxtel TV subscription is required to access Fox Cricket.

Channel 7 is the only option if you can only access free-to-air television. The match may move between 7 itself or 7mate throughout the day, depending on your timezone, so you check your local listings to be sure.

Coverage begins each day at 9:30am (AEDT) for both networks.

How to stream the New Year’s Test online

There are also two options for live streaming this Test but, unlike TV, none of them are free.

The better option would have to be Kayo Sports. You can access just about all of Foxtel’s sporting content through Kayo on your phone, tablet, computer or even Samsung TV for just $25 a month. You may be eligible for a free trial if you’ve never used the service before.

Foxtel GO is the other streaming option. Subscribing to Foxtel GO works exactly like subscribing to Foxtel itself, with the app being included in the package of existing Foxtel pay-TV subscribers.

While most of Channel 7’s content can normally be streamed via 7Plus, their cricket coverage is not included.

The Roar will, as always, keep you updated on all the action at the SCG, with a live blog, video highlights, expert analysis and opinion from fans just like you.
