The BBL09 finals will run from Thursday, January 30 and conclude with the final on Saturday, February 8. Here is The Roar’s guide to catching a live stream of all five finals, or watching them on TV.

This season sees a revamped finals structure arrive in the BBL, with the top five teams qualifying as opposed to just four in previous seasons.

The new finals structure is as follows. All times listed are AEDT.

The Eliminator: 4th vs 5th (Thursday Jan 30, 7:40pm) – Winner progresses to The Knockout, loser is eliminated
The Qualifier: 1st vs 2nd (Friday Jan 31, 7:15pm) – Winner progresses to The Final and will be the home team, loser progresses to The Challenger
The Knockout: 3rd vs Winner of Eliminator (Saturday Feb 1, 7:40pm) – Winner progresses to The Challenger, loser is eliminated
The Challenger: Loser of Qualifier vs Winner of Knockut (Thursday Feb 6, 7:40pm) – Winner progresses to The Final, loser is eliminated
The Final: Winner of Qualifier vs Winner of Challenger (Saturday Feb 8, 7:15pm) – Winner is BBL champion, loser is runner-up

How to watch the BBL finals on TV

You’ll have two options if you want to watch the BBL finals on TV.

If you’re after an option that has no ad breaks during play, you’ll want to watch the matches on Fox Cricket. Fox Cricket, which is channel 501 on your Foxtel box, will have every game of the BBL finals live and free of advertisements during the innings. While Fox Sports doesn’t have access to AFL or NRL grand finals, they do have access to the BBL final.

However, you’ll need a valid Foxtel TV subscription with the sports package included to access Fox Cricket.

If pay TV isn’t your thing, don’t worry, you can also catch every BBL finals match live and free through Channel Seven. Both networks will have varying degrees of pre and post-game coverage that will again vary from game to game. Check your local listings to confirm ahead of each match.

Live stream

If you can’t get to a TV, or would simply prefer to live stream the BBL finals, you’ll also have two options.

The best option is easily Kayo Sports, which lets you stream virtually any Foxtel sporting content on your preferred desktop, laptop, mobile device or even a Samsung TV.

For $25 a month, you’ll have access to every BBL finals match live and ad-free (during the innings), while also having access to most of Foxtel’s other sporting content. If you just want to watch the BBL, you may be eligible for a two-week free trial if you’ve never used the service before.

If you’re already paying for a Foxtel TV subscription but can’t get to a TV, you don’t need to pay twice for the same content. Just use the Foxtel GO app, which is included in your subscription.

While you can normally stream Channel Seven’s TV content through 7Plus, cricket is excluded from this arrangement, unfortunately.
