Melbourne Stars opener Marcus Stoinis and Sydney Thunder paceman Daniel Sams headline the Big Bash League’s team of the tournament.
Stoinis was a lock for the top of the batting order in the tournament after smashing 612 runs this summer for the Stars including an unbeaten 147 against the Sydney Sixers.
The 30-year-old’s amazing innings – the highest individual score in BBL history – was part of a record-breaking 207-run stand with Hilton Cartwright.
Sams’ selection is also no surprise after he picked up a tournament record 30 wickets for the Thunder to put himself in the frame for Australian selection for the limited-overs tour of South Africa.
The 27-year-old quick is the only Thunder player selected in the team of the tournament, however, despite his team preparing to play the Stars on Thursday for a spot in the final against their cross-town rivals the Sydney Sixers.
All-rounder Glenn Maxwell’s successful return to cricket after a mental health break has been rewarded with the captain’s role in the team selected by the head coaches of each of the eight BBL franchises.

Test batsman Matthew Wade’s stellar form for the tournament has also earned him a nod, as the only representative from the Hobart Hurricanes.
Maxwell and Stoinis are joined in the team by Pakistan quick Haris Rauf, who went from playing grade cricket in Tasmania to making his T20 international debut against Bangladesh last month.
Despite having already booked their place in the final, the Sixers have just one player in the team of the tournament – England quick Tom Curran.
Perth have two players in all-rounder Mitchell Marsh and wicketkeeper Josh Inglis.
Veteran quick Peter Siddle, Jon Wells and Afghan leg-spinner Rashid Khan from Adelaide Strikers round out the XI.
Neither the Brisbane Heat or Melbourne Renegades earned a single spot in the team after their disappointing campaigns.
